9 Healthy Tik Tok Recipes To Try

Tik Tok has quickly become a new recipe haven!  We’ve rounded up some of the healthier trending recipes so you can enjoy something fun this week.  

  1. Lizzo’s Vegan Ricotta Toast is a great idea for quick breakfast or a savory afternoon snack.  Start with a slice of toasted sourdough bread and spread a layer of vegan ricotta cheese.  Then top with cherry tomatoes, arugula, olive oil, salt and pepper.  Can’t find vegan ricotta cheese?  Regular ricotta cheese will work just as well.
  2. Spinach Pici Pasta helps you get in your daily serving of greens.  The noodles are created using fresh spinach, flour, olive oil and salt.  The original recipe calls for a sauce made of garlic, butter, and cheese, but these noodles will work with any sauce like pesto or marinara.  For a lighter option, try squeezing lemon juice on top with fresh basil.
  3. Crispy Garlic Parm Accordion Potatoes are a fancier way to enjoy this classic starchy side.  It’s a beautiful presentation and uses ingredients you probably already have in your pantry, like butter, parsley, salt, pepper, oregano, and parmesan cheese.  They crisp up using the oven.  To reduce the saturated fat content, try swapping olive oil in place of butter.
  4. Air Fryer Babybel Cheese is a yummy take on the classic mozzarella stick.  Babybel is known for being a great, grab-n-go high protein snack.  This version takes it up a notch by coating it in flour, Italian breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, cayenne pepper, and parsley.  Definitely keep this recipe in mind for the upcoming holidays!
  5. Boat Dip is made with only four ingredients – sour cream, taco seasoning, shredded Mexican cheese, and rotel tomatoes.  The original recipe caters to anyone following a keto plan.  Swap plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream to reduce the fat and increase the protein.  Another healthy tip, try using the no salt added can of rotel to reduce the sodium content.
  6. Baked Oats are not necessarily a new idea, but we wanted to highlight them because they’re one of our favorites.  Baked oatmeal can take on any flavor, is loved by all ages, and is great fresh or frozen for later.  To reduce the sugar content in this original recipe, try sweetening with fruit and omit maple syrup completely.
  7. Tortilla Fold Hack cooking tutorials are totally addicting to watch.  Start by placing a tortilla on a cutting board, cut from the middle to the bottom, add four ingredients, then fold each quadrant so it’s a multilayered quarter wedge.  These are so versatile – you can use breakfast, lunch or dinner ingredients.  For a healthier tortilla, try using a high fiber or whole wheat wrap.  
  8. Baked Pancakes are the ultimate breakfast hack and quite frankly we wish we would’ve thought of it first.  Mix your pancake batter, add any mix-ins, pour into an 8×12 pan and then bake.  Once it’s done, you can enjoy immediately or freeze in individual servings for later.  For a healthier spin on the batter, try using a pre-made protein batter, adding protein powder into this batter recipe, or using one made with buckwheat.  For toppings, we love heating fruit to replace the syrup.
  9. Carrot Bacon is last but not least.  It’s carrots cut thinly and baked.  For flavor it calls for maple syrup, soy sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.  This would be delicious by itself or on a hearty roasted veggie sandwich.
