Tell us your epic weight loss story.
I have struggled with weight my entire life. Always up or down and not being able to keep the weight off. My husband and I lost twins when I was 15 weeks pregnant and struggled to get pregnant in the three years after. I was very overweight and knew that was a big part of the issue.
I found Lose It! and lost 100lbs in less than a year and then soon found out I was pregnant with our oldest daughter. I got pregnant with our second soon after and then our third child shortly after that. Post-pregnancies I had gained all my weight back and then some. I decided for my children and myself that I was going to jump back on the wagon and lose the weight again. So I turned to Lose It! again to help me get the weight off.
It was so much easier this time because I understood what I needed to do. I love my body differently this time because I knew this body had carried my kids. I started in January of 2019 and I’m back down 87lbs with a little more to go but I know I’ll get there. I love being able to scan the barcode scanner to input food and I have the app synced with my apple watch. This app, my husband, my babies, and my cousin have pushed me to do better, keep track, and hit all the weight loss goals I have for myself.
What did a typical day of eating and/or exercising look like before your weight loss? What does it look like for you now?
Before weight loss, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and didn’t exercise. Now, I track all my food and try to exercise as much as I can (having 3 kids, this can be tough!). I also have a cheat day every Saturday.
If you could give your best advice to people trying to lose weight, what would that advice be?
- Love yourself no matter your weight
- Don’t beat yourself up for having a bad food day here or there (we all do)
- Even if it seems pointless, keep chugging along because you’ll see results and so will everyone around you
- Don’t deprive yourself of treats just eat them moderately so you aren’t craving them
