52 lbs lost
Britt, a father from Pennsylvania, had always been an active person. When his sons came along, he devoted much of his focus and free time to raising his family and found himself not staying as active as he once was.
In the summer of 2008, he was on vacation with his family, and his wife took a photo of him building a sandcastle with his sons. It wasn’t until he saw that photo that he realized he needed to make a change. “That photo was a huge motivator for me,” says Britt. He continues, “That fall, I downloaded Lose It! and weighed 231 pounds. I loved how easy the app was to use, and it encouraged me to hold myself accountable for my food intake. By the next summer, I had lost 46 pounds, and I asked my wife to take another picture of me on our beach vacation.”
Britt is now 179 pounds and is close to reaching his goal weight of 175 pounds. He credits Lose It! for helping him stay motivated and on a healthy track over the last 13 years, giving him the tools and insights to reach small, scalable goals. In addition, he has been very happy with how seamless it has been for him to sync his activity on his Apple Watch to the app. These days, Britt is focused on maintaining a healthy weight and enjoys practicing yoga three times a week. He’s been working toward several non-scale goals, like increasing his energy levels and eliminating knee and back pain.
