✨ Thank you, Canada!

This campaign has now ended, but your support resulted in a total donation of $2,000 to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Wishing you all a happy & heart healthy 2025.

We're Donating 50% Of Canadian Proceeds Sold On Valentine's Day To The Heart & Stroke Foundation Of Canada

Instead of buying up the flower supply and devouring chocolate all day, we wanted to support a cause that is very dear to our hearts. Okay, we’re not going to completely rule out the chocolate… but this Valentine’s Day, we’ve decided to donate 50% of all Canadian proceeds made from Gold subscriptions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada 🇨🇦.

Why Heart & Stroke?

We love all of our users and love being able to support them in living a happier, healthier life. With cardiovascular disease being the leading cause of death globally, we think that raising awareness and funding research in this area is important. We’re more than happy to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada’s efforts behind this and this campaign is only a small step towards how we’d like to continue to support creating healthier communities.

Prevention With Cronometer

Almost 80% of premature  heart disease and stroke can be prevented through healthy behaviours. That means that habits like eating healthy, being active and living smoke free, can have a big impact on your health.

This is where we can help! Not only is using Cronometer a good way to keep track of your habits, it can help to motivate you as well.

  • Log your meals and hit all of your nutrient targets to make sure you’re getting a well-balanced diet.
  • Track your exercise to help you get moving. Syncing a device will do this for you!
  • Track habits like sleep or smoking to monitor them over time.

So, whether you wanted to upgrade your account to Gold on Feb 14 to support the cause, or simply log all of your meals to make sure that you’re eating a well-balanced diet, we’re wishing you a strong, heart-healthy future!

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤

If you’re new to Cronometer let us be the first to say – welcome aboard! We are thrilled to have you and we feel like we’ve created the perfect app to help you reach your goals. Whether you’re looking to track your protein intake to gain muscle composition, keep an eye on your magnesium and omega 3 for better health or shed a couple pounds, you can count on our nutrition tracker because:

Our data is accurate.

The nutrition information found within our app comes from lab-analyzed sources, such as the NCCDB or USDA. Other nutrition tracking apps will allow users to submit their own entries, meaning there can be multiple options for a single food such as an egg, and each option will have different (and unreliable) nutrition information. We do still allow our users to submit foods into our database, but each entry is checked and verified by a staff member before being made available to the public.

You’re getting detailed information.

Cronometer gives you the ability to scroll through granular details on up to 84 micronutrients, which is more than any other app on the market. Take a deep dive on things like zinc and potassium or lysine and oxalate.

Because using a new app can occasionally be confusing we’ve compiled some tips and tricks so you can get the most out of your Cronometer account.

Swipe Right & Left

In the mobile app, you can swipe right or left on any entry in your diary. Swipe left to delete or swipe right to unlock more functionality such as copy & paste or to show more nutrition details.

You can also swipe left on the top header bar of your Diary to view your macros, highlighted targets & more!

Sync Apps & Devices

We support integrations with several mobile apps, such as Apple Health and Health Connect. We also provide support for many popular wearable devices and activity trackers such as Garmin, Fitbit, WHOOP, Oura and Suunto

To get the most out of your existing exercise and health data, you can import it into Cronometer. Sync your device and our seamless integration will feed your activity and health data directly into your account.

Pro Tip

If you have a device that isn't on the list, see if it will sync data with Apple Health or Health Connect, then link those with Cronometer.

Create A Custom Meal

Within the web or mobile app, you can create a custom meal to make logging the things you eat on a regular basis easier than ever!

Do you drink coffee with a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar every morning? Create a meal so you don’t have to add all of the ingredients to your diary separately each time. Navigate to the Foods tab, then click ‘Create Meal’ to get started.

Pro Tip

Always taking the same combination of vitamins or supplements? Create a meal that includes them all to add it in one easy step.

Choose Your Food Entries Wisely

When you search for a food, you’ll notice that there are letters, like NCCDB, USDA or CRDB coming up on the right hand side of the screen. This is telling you the source of the nutrition data for that food entry.

To get the most accurate and reliable data, make sure you’re logging with generic entries from the NCCDB or the USDA. Read this blog for more tips on getting the best data.

Pro Tip

Click the orange filter button to bring up more food search options. You can filter out for just NCCDB data entries, sort by most frequent and even enable a multi-add function.

Edit Your Targets

Your daily targets for both your macronutrients (carbs, fat, protein) and your micronutrients (all of those vitamins & minerals) are fully customizable. Our default targets aren’t necessarily fit for everyone and we recommend checking with your doctor, nutritionist or dietitian to help tailor them specific to your needs. Edit these in the ‘More’ section of both the web and mobile app.

Ask For Help

We have a wonderful community around us here at Cronometer. A handful of staff members and over 10 million users are at the ready and willing to help. If you’re stuck and have a question or just need some straight up motivation, don’t be shy. Reach out to our support team, make a post in our community forums or leverage any of our social media accounts. Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) have revolutionized diabetes care, providing insights into glucose fluctuations and how they relate to your daily food intake, activity levels, and lifestyle. Pairing Cronometer with a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) unlocks even greater potential by connecting these glucose trends with comprehensive nutritional data.

Whether you’re managing diabetes, working on prevention, or simply optimizing your diet, this powerful duo can help you make smarter, data-driven decisions to improve your health and well-being. To learn more about managing diabetes with Cronometer visit our blog here.

Why Use Cronometer and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) Together?

Cronometer is much more than a basic calorie tracker. It offers a deep dive into your macro and micronutrient intake while enabling you to track Custom Biometrics. By combining Cronometer with a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGMs), you can gain a comprehensive understanding of how your diet impacts your glucose levels. Here’s why this combination is so effective:

  1. Personalized Insights: Gain a unique understanding of how your body reacts to specific foods, activities, and routines with Cronometer’s CGM chart. For example, you might discover that a particular breakfast leads to glucose spikes, while another keeps your levels steady. This empowers you to tailor your diet and habits to your unique biology. Utilize custom charts to take your insights to the next level, visit our blog here to learn more!
  2. Actionable Data: CGMs provide immediate feedback, showing glucose trends throughout the day. This data helps you identify areas for improvement, such as managing post-meal glucose spikes or stabilizing blood sugar. With Cronometer’s detailed food tracking, you can directly link these trends to your meals and lifestyle choices on the CGM chart.
  3. Support for Lasting Behaviour Changes: Visualizing the impact of your actions—like how a certain workout or snack affects your glucose levels—can inspire healthier routines. Integrate your favourite wearable alongside your CGM device to level up your tracking and insights on Cronometer. Visit our Integrations User Manual to learn more!

With this visual insight, you’ll be able to fine-tune your nutrition for better glucose control.
  • Time Stamps: Accurate logging is key to making meaningful connections between your nutrition and glucose levels. Use Time Stampswhen logging your meals to track exactly when you’re eating. This precision makes it easier to identify how specific meals or snacks influence your glucose levels over time.
  • Custom Charts: Want to dig even deeper? Cronometer’s Custom Charts let you explore the unique factors that impact your glucose. For example, are you curious about how your chromium intake affects your blood sugar stability throughout the day? Create a custom chart to analyze this correlation! These personalized insights can help you optimize your diet to better meet your health goals. For a step-by-step guide on creating Custom Charts, check out our blog here.
