Marshon, a mother of five from Missouri, knows firsthand what it takes to be fit and healthy. A college athlete, she was used to scheduled workouts and eating wholesome foods to fuel and nourish her body. She also had people around her keeping her accountable when it came to maintaining a healthy weight – a team or coach was usually there to keep her on track and in check.
As time went on, she got married and started a family, and found herself diving into motherhood full force, devoting her time and focus on taking care of her growing brood. Like many busy mothers juggling the demands of family life, Marshon traded much of her former “me time” to give her family and children full attention, at the expense of her health. During these years, she also experienced serious health issues and coupled with the weight that she gained after having children, her overall physical health took a toll.
Marshon always knew she needed to find her way back to herself after these obstacles threatened to derail her health and wellness journey. She wanted a new, easy-to-use tool that fit her busy lifestyle and would help keep herself accountable. That’s when she started using Lose It! and discovered that it was exactly what she needed to get back on track. You won’t see total pounds lost or a fixation on a number on the scale when it comes to telling Marshon’s story. Rather, she loves using Lose It! as a reliable tool that allows her to “fuel her body with nutritious food and easily track the foods she loves.”
These days, she imparts her knowledge to help others on their own journey. A personal trainer and life coach, she tells her clients that “things are not going to be great all the time. But for each and every milestone you hit, Lose It! will share that [success] with you. You can share with the community, and you can share with your friends. And it’s going to take time, but it’s worth it. And it’s not just a one-time thing you do; it is a lifetime journey. So buckle down, settle in, and enjoy the ride while you do it.” Marshon is now kinder to herself, making sure she carves time for activities she loves, like yoga and long walks. She is grateful that she has brought physical activity back into her routine and is determined to live a long and healthy life, which she has always wanted. And one of the best things to come out of her journey back to herself? Being able to set a good example for her kids and set them up for success in their own lives.
