Gary’s aha moment came six months ago when he decided to become a healthier version of himself and “no longer the big guy.” A family physician in Pennsylvania, he realized that he was giving advice to his patients that he wasn’t taking himself. Looking for a tool to help him achieve his goal of living a more active lifestyle, he found Lose It! on the app store, started diligently logging and tracking his food and exercise, and began building healthier eating habits and incorporating gym time into his weekly schedule.
Looking back at how far he’s come in a relatively short amount of time, Gary says that it has been the small successes that motivate him to keep up his momentum as well as the support of the Lose It! social community and the encouragement his wife and two teenage sons have given him. He has a newfound confidence, feels like he can keep up with his sons, and is no longer camera-shy. Gary’s family has also embraced this active and healthier lifestyle, joining him at the gym and enjoying healthy, home-cooked family meals. Even though the number on the scale has changed drastically, Gary says it’s “the small wins” and steady progress that has brought him to where he is today; he continues, “Being able to demonstrate a healthy lifestyle to my kids has been the most important outcome of my weight loss.”
