Don’t have a home gym? No problem! You can get and awesome workout and break a sweat with the tools you’ve already got around your house. (Psst: If you’re looking for a full body workout to do at home, try this one!)
Here are a few of our favorite tools to use when we want to feel the burn but don’t have any weights on hand.
Substitutions For Heavier Weights
Laundry Detergent Bottles – Once you’ve used up all the detergent don’t throw these bottles away. To make the empty bottles heavier just fill them with water.
Bags of Fruits or Veggies – Think bags of onions, apples, oranges, or potatoes.
Milk or Water Jugs
Bags of Pet Food
Paint Cans
Backpack – Fill it with a few books, cans, bottles, etc.
Substitutions For Lighter Weights
Canned Goods – Think soup, veggies, beans, pickles, or pasta sauce!
Wine Bottles – If you sneak a glass after your workout, we won’t tell!
Water Bottles – Work out and keep yourself hydrated… we call that a win-win!
Books
Condiments – Got large bottles of ketchup, olive oil, or vinegar on hand? Boom, you’ve got instant weights!
