Brandon’s epic weight loss story.
I was a former high school football player and gained weight in college due to overindulgence of food paired with inactivity. When I decided to try Lose It! and start losing weight, I set a goal date and have been fairly consistent since March 3rd.
I started by educating myself on calories, macronutrients and exercise routines for a healthier lifestyle. I did it alone, but I’ve always received words of encouragement from friends, family and colleagues.
The most emotional moment was when I hit the “100 lbs lost” mark several years ago.
I made a vow to myself to maintain a healthier lifestyle and to motivate others around me as well. It’s the best decision I ever made.
What did a typical day of eating and/or exercising look like before your weight loss? What does it look like for you now?
Before I lost weight, I was consuming fast food 3x a day. I once calculated each meal to be above 1700 calories, and I didn’t exercise.
Now my go-to meal is chicken breast, sweet potatoes and broccoli. I still enjoy other foods I love, but I eat in moderation and practice portion control.
I exercise 3-4 times a week, depending on how busy the week is.
Brandon’s advice:
- Moderation is key.
- Even if you don’t feel like going to the gym, try to go anyways. Chances are you’ll feel so much better once your workout is complete.
- If you’re going out to eat, look at the menu ahead of time and pick out your meal in advance.
- Drink a lot of water and stay hydrated, it’s important for weight loss.
- Keep healthy snacks on hand as well to keep your appetite at bay.
