Tell us about your weight loss journey – how did it start?
When I started my weight loss journey, I was 209 Lbs. I was so shocked, ashamed, and most of all, so disappointed that I had let myself go.
I at first blamed it on the weight I had gained during my pregnancy, but as time went on and my little girl turned 1, and now she’s 2, I just kept making more and more excuses.
I have tried everything! Running a mile a day, fasting, dancing, and even coming up with some basic workouts I found on YouTube, but it wasn’t enough.
I was just appalled looking at pictures of myself, and I knew moving forward, I want to not only look beautiful in my wedding gown this fall but feel beautiful as well.
Then my fiancé started working out, even built a workout studio out of our old shed beside our house, and now he’s creating his own content on YouTube! I am so proud of him! and the progress he’s made!❤️
He inspired me to create my own weight loss journey! So I did what he did – I downloaded a calorie counting/tracking app called Lose It! and you customize your settings based on your weight and height; you then tell the app how much you’re looking to lose and what your ultimate goal is.
At 209 lbs. I put down that I would like to go back down to 170 (which was my weight before I got pregnant), so from there the app then told me how many calories I should be consuming for each meal in order to achieve my goal.
When I started tracking things, it amazed me how many calories I was consuming in just 1 day! 😳
I started logging every day! (still am now) and doing cardio for about 30 mins every day on this small/cheap indoor exercise bike we purchased. We challenged each other, seeing who could cycle the longest just tried making it fun! We would even try to beat each other’s numbers, and so on 😅 and because of these changes I’ve made, I can now say I am 187 lbs!!
I have come a long way, and I know this is just the beginning, but it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good about myself and comfortable in my own skin/clothes. I know it’s weird to say “I’m proud of myself” or give ourselves any sorta credit, but I’m guna say it anyways! I AM FREAKING PROUD OF MYSELF! 🥲
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced during your weight loss journey?
I work 3rd shift at my local children’s hospital, so while i’m supposed to be sleeping, i’d be snacking or drinking very sugary and caffeinated drinks just to keep myself awake.
What are some non-scale victories you’ve discovered along the way?
I feel better about myself and altogether just more confident in my clothes. It also feels great to not have the constant cravings that I use to have that would contribute to putting on the weight.

What are some healthy habits you’ve built?
The healthy habit, I would have to say, is switching regular Coke and regular high-calorie sugary sodas to diet sodas and no calories whatsoever! It’s really changed a lot for me!
