Elizabeth Adopted Healthier Eating Habits to Reach Her Wellness Goals

Elizabeth, an elementary school teacher from North Carolina, made the decision to commit to living a healthier lifestyle in the summer of 2022 when she realized that she was “grazing her way through several workrooms” at school and had seen the scale hit 292 pounds. She started tracking her food intake through Lose It! that summer and prioritized exercise. After a month of making these healthy changes in her life, Elizabeth noticed that her clothes were fitting better and that she had more energy throughout the day. 

That fall, when she went back to school, the difference in Elizabeth was noticeable to those around her. “Fellow teachers started to ask what I had been doing and were telling me that what I was doing was paying off,” she says. For Elizabeth, the biggest compliment and testament to her hard work came when a mother from the school pick-up line stopped her car and told her that she “noticed I was getting into shape, looking good, and to keep up the work!” That confidence-boosting comment has stayed with her on her journey to better health.

She enjoys experimenting with new healthy recipes and incorporates fitness into her daily routine, making sure to stop at the gym when she’s out running errands or sweating through a workout session at home.

Elizabeth is now 240 pounds and is on track to reach her goal weight of 140 pounds. She has found that taking progress photos has helped her stay motivated, and she is also grateful for the support she’s received from her family and friends.
